Deacon Dr. Richard H. Ross, Sr. (Ph.D.) (BA, MA, Ph.D.), Dissertation at The University of Michigan,

School of Education: ATTITUDES, VALUES, ASPIRATION, AND RECIPROCAL PERCEPTIONS BETWEEN AFROAMERICANS AND AFRICANs, and majored in Biology and Counseling, interned in the Admissions

Office for two semesters as an Admissions Assistant where he wrote a required thesis proposal entitled:

PROPOSED JUNIOR IN AFRICA/AFRICAN EXCHANGE PROGRAM and appointed Assistant to the

Director of Financial Aid and Research Assistant.  This proposal lead to the development of the Center for Afroamerican and African Studies (CAAS) funded to Dr. Ross by the University of Michigan's Regents for three million dollars, now a Department of Afroamerican and African Studies (DAAS). It also lead to a separate Institute for African  Studies at the University of Michigan and UM CAAS’s, Director of Research and a Research Associate. He attended Cleary University majoring in accounting (46 hours) and business. He was appointed to the Schenectady County Community College as the Director of the Financial Aid, Schenectady, NY where he administered a four million dollars financial aid program. While at the University of Michigan, he invented a new product Patent No. 3692174, and established the Insta-Bookcase Company, Inc., (IBC) and became the CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  In 2023, The University of Michigan’s Bentley Historical Library housed his ROSS COLLECTION. He was one of the key Founders of the African American and African Foundation on Science, Education and Economic Development, Inc. (AAAFSEED), President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Dr. Ross is a UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, M ALUMNI LIFE MEMBER #0002299094, and a member of the MICHIGAN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION of the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN. umalumni.com.
